Om Prakash is a Mining Engineering graduate from BIT Sindri with a Master’s in Mine Planning from IIT (BHU) and an MBA in Finance from Sikkim Manipal University. He has over 24 years of experience in the mining industry, having worked with SCCL, Hindalco, and BCML. As COO at BCML, he led a 28 MTPA MDO project for MCL. At Hindalco, he introduced blast-free mining, and at SCCL, he contributed to longwall operations and shaft sinking projects. Since joining Jindal Power Limited in 2021, he oversees operations, expansion and development of four commercial coal mines with PRC of 41.65 MTPA and three coal washeries with combined capacity of 11.55 MTPA. He also serves on the technical board of Vulcan Mozambique.
