Ashim is the Program Lead – Energy Finance working with the Energy team of World Resource Institute India where he is responsible for developing program’s strategy for clean energy finance, looking at international and domestic sources of clean energy finance, transition finance toward industrial decarbonisation in hard to abate sector and MSME, energy storage, sustainable cooling and developing innovative financing mechanisms to support India’s clean energy transition in India. Before joining WRI India, Ashim has long experience in Banking and Finance, working with some leading commercial banks like Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, IndusInd Bank and Yes Bank across multiple business line like Corporate and Commercial banking, Rural and Agribusiness banking, Microfinance and Inclusive Finance, Sustainable Banking, SME finance across business development and credit risk department. Ashim has also worked as a technical consultant on inclusive finance, capital advisory, sustainability, fund management, market linkage, access to finance, business development and expansion planning, working on projects with several development banks, international organisations, state level banker committees, technical partners, and civil society organisation. Ashim is a management graduate from Institute of Rural Management, Anand (IRMA) and a Chartered Financial Analyst from ICFAI.
